Special Teddy Bear Weekend in Bodmin!

Start date: May 12, 2018

End date: May 13, 2018

Time: 10:00 - 17:00

In partnership with Bodmin and Wenford Railway, Bodmin Keep will be holding a weekend of bear-filled fun!

As part of the special event: Paddington at Bodmin & Wenford Railway on the 12th & 13th May, Cornwall’s Regimental Museum will be holding family activities inspired by WW1 pocket bears, little mascots sent from home to keep the soldiers safe. Pocket bears are special little teddies, made very small and with their eyes high up on their head so that they could see out of a soldier’s pocket. They were often carried around everywhere the soldier went. Those little bears must have seen the world.

During the weekend visitors will be able to make your own pocket bear to take home, as well as following the special bear trail around Bodmin Keep.

There is no extra charge for the activities, our usual museum entry rates apply. If you already have an annual pass your visit will be included.

These activities are in addition to the unmissable Paddington themed activities just over the road at Bodmin Railway. Bodmin Railway will be sharing more details about their events over the next few months including exciting activities and entertainment inspired by the Paddington books and films. You can find out more on the Bodmin & Wenford Railway website, here.

Don’t miss this bear-y exciting event!

Bodmin Railway is a short walk from Bodmin Keep, there is public parking at Victoria Square to the rear of the museum. To find out more about planning your visit, please see our visitor information page.
