Tickets are now on sale for the World War 1 commemoration event of the year. Follow in the footsteps of local men who fought for the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry (DCLI) during the First world War. This is immersive theatre that brings to life the Cornish men who fought in the Trenches. Enlist in the DCLI right here at Bodmin Keep, and take on a real soldier’s identity. The Quartermaster will provide your kit and equipment, and rations can be collected from Bodmin & Wenford railway, before you board a steam train and head off to The Trench to experience the chaos of battle.
Ticketholders will spend up to an hour in the trench, before returning to discover their fate in the Trench Exhibition. Age 12 and upwards.
As part of Cornwall’s First World War commemorations in 2018, Collective Arts, Cornwall’s Regimental Museum and Bodmin & Wenford Railway present an intense and immersive theatrical experience: The Trench at Bodmin.
This is theatre but not as you know it. You will be recruited, you will be taking part in the action. This experience is not for the faint of heart.
Tickets are £15 for the Trench experience, WW1 inspired ration packs are £10 an include an optional St Austell Brewery Commemorative Ale, and there are four short plays taking place in the loft at the Keep, tickets for these are £5 each. You can learn more about the short plays here.
